Flashback Friday - Volume 19: Who's Missing?

This is how our picture with Santa turned out for 2010. Kyle refused to get anywhere near Santa, so we had Ryan sit with him while he is still carrier-bound.

Milestone Photos

Last month we took Ryan for his 3 month milestone photos just as we did when Kyle was 3 months old. Ryan was a trooper and gave us a few smiles as the session went on. He was blowing raspberries in the first picture below. Just for fun, we had Kyle get in one picture. Not the best picture of both of them, but fun nonetheless.

Katie & Frank's Wedding

Two weeks ago we headed up to Long Island, NY for my college roommate Katie's wedding. Katie and I met freshmen year when we were both in search of new roommates in Stanford Hall. Katie lived with "Crazy Kelly" and I lived with Beth, but I felt like I had two roommates, enter Kate, who was over ALL DAY LONG. Needless to say, we were happy to find each other, and we hit it off pretty much immediately. When I met Frank, Katie's new boyfriend in 2007, I knew it was the man she would marry. 3 1/2 years later, that "hope" came true, and we were there to celebrate with them. I was honored to stand by Katie's side as she said her I Do's. The wedding was so much fun and Katie made a beautiful bride. She added some special touches to her wedding, such as wedding coloring books and crayons for the kids, and on-the-spot photos of the guests framed and ready to go. I enjoyed all of the pre-wedding festivities while Russ and my parents took care of the boys. When I wasn't involved with the wedding, we enjoyed: visiting with my Aunt Anne, cousins, and their kids; walking around East Hampton (aka The Hamptons) to see the ducks, swans, and shops; tasting wine at Wolffer Vineyard; seeing the Montauk Point Lighthouse at the end of Long Island; seeing actress Julianne Moore shopping incognito in the IGA; and riding the Long Island Railroad with Kyle. Below are several of the pictures. You can see more here. The family

Potluck Playdate

Saturday afternoon we hosted a "potluck playdate" with Gavin, Josie, Lucia, and Jack from Kyle and Ryan's classes. It was a nice laid back afternoon with lots of playing outside and yummy food. Everyone had a fun time and it was nice to get to know the parents of the kids better at the same time.

Four Months

Ryan turned 4 months old on Tuesday. Hard to believe he is 1/3 of the way to turning 1! He is such a smiley, happy baby. He can be crying one minute, then he'll just stop and smile. He has enjoyed playing on his playmat lately and loves to pull on the toys dangling above his head. He still loves his hands...and mine, too. Last week he had his first plane ride, and saw his first snow! He had a great doctor's visit and did much better with the shots this time...he barely let out a whimper!
Weight: 15 lbs. 10 oz. (70th %)

Height: 26 inches (85th %)

Flashback Friday - Volume 18: The Houston Zoo

A few weekends ago we headed to the zoo for some family fun. We hadn't been since Kyle was about 18 months old, so there was a lot more to talk about this time! Kyle particularly enjoyed seeing the elephants getting a morning bath...and watching the baby elephant was extra special. Kyle wanted to walk around, but quickly got tired and hopped in the stroller. Ryan was a good boy and took a little cat nap in between seeing the animals. After the zoo we had a picnic in Herman Park and rode the train for the first time. Kyle LOVED the train and sang a Thomas song the entire ride. After 2 minutes in the car to head home, both boys were fast asleep.

Poor little sick boy

Kyle said he wanted to go to the bathroom...turns out he wanted to sleep there, too.
