Daddy and Me
One of the books that Russ often reads to Kyle before bed is Daddy and Me by Karen Katz. The book describes how the child is helping daddy make a doghouse. On Sunday, Kyle was helping dad replace some wood in our deck. He got out his plastic hammer and banged on the wood and watched dad use the power saw and cordless drill. He even got to spin the drill on his own, which he loved doing. What a fun day for Kyle!

Eggstra fun with eggs
This afternoon Aunt Kelly came over to dye Easter eggs with Kyle. Kyle sat still for a few minutes, but was mostly more interested in the power tools and extension cord that dad had out. He liked to throw the eggs in the glass and say "splash", and was excited to see the different stickers. Thanks for helping us Aunt Kelly!

Easter Egg Hunt
This afternoon we headed over to the park for the Ashford Easter Egg Hunt. Kyle had a great time putting eggs in his basket. He needed a little "push" to get started, and then he was off! He even got what looked like the golden egg (I guarded it from other kids so he could get it)! I think we'll practice more hunting at home before the big day!

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
I started (and finished!) a little craft project for Kyle. I had seen cute stools at TJMaxx and Marshalls for $24.99, and I figured I could make one for half the cost. So that is what I did! I bought an unfinished stool and some transportation decals at Michaels and used some red paint we had at the house. I think the finished project came out pretty cute, and Kyle can now see the sink when he brushes his teeth.

Houston Rodeo
We all headed to the livestock show and carnival at the rodeo first thing this morning to see some animals and all the action the rodeo provides. Gigi and the Brocks went with us and we had fun watching the chicks hatch and petting the goats in the petting zoo, along with seeing lots of longhorns, pigs, and bunnies. Kyle's favorite part was using the electronic hand sanitizer after touching the animals. He kept going back for more. Kyle also enjoyed sitting in the different tractors, even though he was pretty expressionless all day (as you'll see in pictures). We took a trip outside to the carnival where Kyle rode one ride...he was fine to start with, cried in the middle as it started going up and down, and then was ok at the end. When we cheered for him after the ride, he clapped for himself and said "bravo". What a beautiful day for a trip to the rodeo!

March Madness
Kyle was fully prepared for A&M's Big 12 tournament game today. Good thing they won since he was dressed up for it. Villanova, on the other hand, fell short in their first game in the Big East finals...let's hope they can do better when the NCAA's begin!

You know it's humid when...
...your son comes home from school with hair like this. We had a few laughs at Kyle's perm-esque hair. The humidifier at night doesn't help either, I'm sure!
